AWAI
Beauty exists in the space between.
“AWAI” represents the invisible space between things — between people, between moments, and between what we can see and what we cannot.
This original artwork portrays a woman in monochrome, surrounded by a vivid red circle.
The red circle evokes the sun, life, prayer, and harmony, elements deeply connected to Japanese culture and spirituality.
Created on traditional Japanese washi paper, the work embraces the Japanese aesthetic of space, imperfection, silence, and the beauty of what remains unseen.
Rather than filling every space, I intentionally leave room for the viewer to feel, interpret, and discover their own meaning.
Sometimes, beauty does not exist in what is shown, but in the space between.
This is the essence of AWAI.

AWAI
